June 10th – Italian Day on Commercial Drive
Okay, so technically this event is about being Italian. However, every year the Portuguese Club of Vancouver participates by serving up grilled sardines and chicken on the street in front of the club’s entrance. You also get a fresh papo-seco (Portuguese bun) on the side and don’t forget to order a Sumol. Get there early for they are a popular stop on Commercial Drive or be ready to wait in the long line up of hungry people that forms down the block.
