European Union Short Film Festival

Vancouver’s first European Union Short Film Festival is taking place at The Cinematheque from May 23rd to May 25th. The festival, organized with the assistance of the Canadian Film Institute (Ottawa), features three lively programs of short films from European Union member states (including Portugal), each showcasing works in a variety of genres and styles, including drama, documentary, and animation. These films will be presented in their original language with English subtitles. Best of all, admission is free-of-charge.

Thursday, May 23, 2019 – 6:30 pm
Not featuring any Portuguese films

Program 2
Friday, May 24, 2019 – 6:30 pm
Featuring Portuguese short film: Slope | A poetic, minimalist examination of memory and landscape. Eduardo Brito/Portugal 2016. Duration: 7 min.

Program 3, Part II
Saturday, May 25, 2019 – 2:00 pm
Featuring Portuguese short film: Ana, a Palindrome | Ana finds out that sometimes the past and the present can overlap in surprising ways. Portugal 2013. Duration: 5 min.

Tickets:
Admission is free; however, tickets are still required and will be available on a first-come, first served basis starting 30 minutes before showtime. For more information, call 604.688.8202.
