Annual Festa Celebrating the Serra Region
The community comes together at the Festa da Serra to celebrate and to raise funds for different charities in the Serra region of Portugal. This year they will be sending money to Serra de Santo Antonio to assist in gathering the final funds for the construction of a seniors’ home in Serra de Santo Antonio. The charity has almost reached its goal to get the funding from the government to break ground and begin construction. Throughout Canada and the USA communities have done their part and now it’s Vancouver’s turn to support the town from where many local Portuguese families emigrated.
