June 2025

June is Portuguese Heritage Month, so it’s time to show your Portuguese pride! There are lots of events and activities happening this month to celebrate our culture and people. Below is my list of Portuguese Things to Do for June. I’ll keep updating it with new happenings, so be sure to check back often for the latest updates!

MONDAYS – SATURDAYS

Luso Canadian Association – Located in Kitimat, they are open from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm from Monday to Saturday.

FRIDAYS

Luso Canadian Association – Located in Kitimat, they serve dinner every Friday night in their Luso Lounge. Reservations are required.

Portuguese Cultural Centre of BC – Located in Burnaby,  they have been serving a delicious hot lunch every Friday for years now. There are also games and sports on their many TVs. All are welcome to attend.

Portuguese Club of Vancouver – On Fridays, they will be offering a Bifana with Fries and a draft beer for the special price of $15.00

SATURDAYS

Portuguese Club of Vancouver – On Saturdays, they will be offering “Polvo a Lagareiro” with a draft beer for $24.00

SUNDAYS

Luso Canadian Portuguese Club – Located in Penticton, their doors are open every Sunday at 2:00 pm with dinner served at 5:00 pm (please RSVP). They also have board games for all ages to enjoy.

Portuguese Canadian Cultural Society of Osoyoos – Open every Sunday (except for stat holidays) from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm. They offer bifanas, cerveja, and tremoços. All are welcome.

JUNE 7 & 8, 2025 – Pentecost – Feast of The Holy Spirit 2025 at Our Lady of Fatima Portuguese Parish in Vancouver

JUNE 7 & 8, 2025 – Celebrate Portugal Day in Burnaby

JUNE 8, 2025 – Celebrate Portugal Day in Osoyoos

JUNE 8, 2025 – Dia de Portugal in Prince George

JUNE 13-15, 2025 – Holy Spirit Festival at Our Lady of Fatima Portuguese Parish in Victoria 

JUNE 14 & 15, 2025 – Feast of Santo Cristo at Our Lady of Fatima Portuguese Parish in Vancouver.  New or slightly used items are needed for the Bazaar. If you can donate, then please leave your items at the back of the church or at the rectory.

JUNE 21, 2025 – Festa de S. João / St. John’s Dinner Dance at the Portuguese Cultural Centre of BC in Burnaby

JUNE 29, 2025 – Festa Do Divino Espirito Santo at the Irmandade do Divino Espirito Santo in Surrey

As we bid farewell to 2024 (can you believe how fast the year has flown by?), there’s still plenty of Portuguese events to look forward to this month.  From Christmas lunches to New Year’s Eve parties, there’s something for everyone.

Here’s your ultimate list of Portuguese things to do this December. I’ll keep this list updated with new happenings, so be sure to check back often. Let’s make the most of the final month of the year! Boas festas!

NOVEMBER 30, 2024 – Arquipelago Press has put out a call for submissions for a new Portuguese Canadian anthology
