The Portuguese Cultural Centre is currently taking advantage of the Centre being closed due to Covid-19, to do some renovations and updates. They have come up with a little contest called Our Beautiful Portugal and would like to involve all their members in assisting them with a fresh new look for wall décor at the Centre.
For the next month, they will be accepting via their Facebook page scenic pictures from all regions of Portugal (Mainland and the Islands) from which they will then select a picture or pictures to enlarge and frame. Prizes will be awarded.

Father’s Day in Portugal is celebrated in March, but in Canada, it’s on June 21st this year. Because of the pandemic, none of the local Portuguese associations or groups has planned any special lunches or dinners like previous years. If you want to treat your dad to a Portuguese meal, then you’re in luck. The Portuguese Club of Vancouver is re-opening June 3rd for eat-in and take-out or consider taking your dad for a bica at one of the local Portuguese cafés. You can find a list of them on my Community Contacts page under “BAKERIES, CAFÉS, RESTAURANTS & MORE.”
Lastly, I’d like to say…O pai, obrigada pelas aventuras, pelas tuas sabias e por todo o carinho. Feliz dia do pai para todos os pais. / Dad, thank you for the adventures, for your wisdom and for all the affection. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads. ❤️??
