This page outlines Portugal in Vancouver’s policy for advertising, privacy, commenting, photos, contests, and republication. Portugal in Vancouver reserves the right to update its Policy & Disclosure page as required.
Portugal in Vancouver is written, developed, and maintained by Gloria Botelho. Information for events is provided by the organisation hosting the event(s) and/or from a third-party that is promoting the event(s).
Portugal in Vancouver promotes Portuguese related events for local Portuguese-Canadian non-profits (i.e. churches, associations, clubs and etc.) and the Consulate General of Portugal in Vancouver for free.
For all other entities, businesses, and for-profit events, Portugal in Vancouver charges a fee for services, advertising, and sponsored posts. If you are a business wishing to advertise and/or work with Portugal in Vancouver, please read our Advertising Opportunities page before sending a message to discuss rates, terms, and conditions.

Although Portugal in Vancouver and Gloria Botelho do not expect to receive financial compensation for any of the events that they promote for non-profit groups, compensation has been accepted in the form of in-kind payments for posts such as tickets, dinners, and etc.

Your privacy is very important to us. At Portugal in Vancouver we have a few fundamental principles that we follow:

Comment Policy
Portugal in Vancouver and Gloria Botelho reserve the right to remove comments that are abusive, hateful, libellous, or otherwise deemed unfit for publishing.
As the publisher, Gloria Botelho reserves the right to close comments on any post that has been published.
Photo Policy
All photos and images on Portugal in Vancouver are photographed and/or created by Gloria Botelho and are the sole property of Gloria Botelho unless otherwise noted. Any photos and/or images not photographed or created by Gloria Botelho are used with permission from the photographer or creator of an image. The author’s name, link to the original source, and optional web link will be included if possible. Any special requests for credit will be granted and followed.
Contest Policy
Contests are held on both the Portugal in Vancouver’s Blog page and Facebook Page.
Contest timelines are noted on the contest post.
Previous winners are eligible again for contest wins after a 1-week period.
Portugal in Vancouver contests have Facebook entries and blog post comment entries. These are required in order to do a contest with Portugal in Vancouver. Any other methods can be discussed and considered for approval.
Facebook entries will consist of one of or a combination of Likes, Comments and/or Shares. This does not guarantee contest wins.
Each post outlines the rules of contest entry. Should an entry method say “1 entry”, participants receive one entry into the contest per method.
To be eligible to participate and submit an entry, you must be a resident of British Columbia, unless otherwise noted.
Winners will be notified within 12 hours of the draw time and will have 48 hours to reply to confirm their prize unless otherwise noted. Winners are announced on the contest blog and Facebook page.
Contestants must supply a valid email address or valid Facebook profile when entering the contest. This information is solely for prize notification.
Contest partners must confirm that they have permission to represent the brand featured in the promotion.
Prizes cannot be exchanged for any other products or services.
Prizes cannot be used in any subsequent contests.
Prize providers will be responsible for completing the delivery of the prize items to the contest winners unless otherwise arranged with Gloria Botelho.
Republication
Feel free to quote Portugal in Vancouver and link back to the original source post. Full republication of posts is not permitted. Full republication of post photos is not permitted and any photos sourced from other sources will have their own license that must be adhered to.
