Even though it’s still summer, it feels like the season changes once September arrives but that doesn’t mean an end to fun! September means the return of festas, dinners & dances, and more! If you’re looking for some good times, then check out my list of Portuguese Things To Do for September 2024. MONDAYS – SATURDAYS

Luso Canadian Association – Located in Kitimat, they are open from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm from Monday to Saturday.

FRIDAYS

Luso Canadian Association – Located in Kitimat, they serve dinner every Friday night in their Luso Lounge. Reservations are required.

Portuguese Cultural Centre of BC – Located in Burnaby,  they have been serving a delicious hot lunch every Friday for years now. There are also games and sports on their many TVs. All are welcome to attend.

SUNDAYS

Luso Canadian Portuguese Club – Located in Penticton, their doors are open every Sunday at 2:00 pm with dinner served at 5:00 pm (please RSVP). They also have board games for all ages to enjoy.

SEPTEMBER 11, 2024 – Grupo Seniors / Seniors Group at Our Lady of Fatima Portuguese Parish in Vancouver

SEPTEMBER 21, 2024 – First day of classes at the Escola Portuguesa Nossa Senhora de Fátima in Vancouver. If you have a child aged 4 to 16 who wants to learn Portuguese, then send an email to Aurelia Silva at aureliamrps@hotmail.com to register.

SEPTEMBER 21, 2024 – Festa das Vindimas (Harvest Dance) at the Portuguese Cultural Centre in Burnaby

SEPTEMBER 21, 2024 – Vinícola Portugal Wine Festival at Heritage Hall in Vancouver

SEPTEMBER 26 & 27, 2024 – Improvisitas! The Portuguese Kids with Mike Rita will be performing at the Luso Canadian Portuguese Club of Penticton

I hope you have been enjoying your summer so far. Can you believe it is August already?!  This is the month where most of the non-profits and their volunteers take a well deserved break from hosting events which means there are very few Portuguese Things To Do for August 2024. Summer is in full swing which also means Portuguese events are starting to wind down. This short break allows all the amazing volunteers to rest and recharge after a couple of busy months. However, there are still a few Portuguese Things to Do for July 2024, so see my list below and click the link for each event for complete details. JULY 1, 2024 – Watch Portugal play Slovenia at Our Lady of Fatima Parish Hall in Victoria

JULY 12 – 16, 2024 – The Consulate General of Portugal in Vancouver will be on a Consular Outreach Mission to the Okanagan Valley (Osoyoos and Penticton)

JULY 19 – 21, 2024 – Portugal – Nations Cup in Richmond

JULY 20, 2024 – Portugal to Kick-Off Vancouver’s Celebration of Light FireworksTo ensure this event remains an enjoyable and safe experience for everyone, the City is working closely with partners at the Park Board, Vancouver Police Department and Vancouver Emergency Management Agency.
