Palavras: An Evening of Words Celebrating Portuguese Literature
Come and celebrate the 100th anniversary of Portuguese writer and poet, Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen. Hosted by Esmeralda Cabral and featuring readings by BC poets and writers: Sylvia Symons, Elaine Avila, Eduardo Bettencourt Pinto, Nelia Botelho, Franci Louann, Maria Miranda Lawrence, and Hedley Bontano. There will also be a welcome address and poetry reading in Portuguese by the Consul-General of Portugal in Vancouver, Marta Cowling. Come and celebrate the written word.
This will be a bilingual event: Portuguese and English. See the program below for more details.
